Hi, I was diagnosed with pelvic congestion syndrome after a large varicose vein was discovered above my right ovary during and ultrasound and laparoscopy. My doctor did suggest that I see a vascular specialist. My menstrual cycles were very painful with bloating after my second child. Although I had recently had a tubal ligation, my obgyn prescribed birth control pills which greatly improved the heaving bleeding, cramping and bloating. However, there is still slight pressure in the area of the vein. I still probably will see a vascular specialist to get the vein repaired (it was about 4cm round).
