i have fibro and chronic fatiue syndrome and just recieved my social security disability in nov. 99. i started april 98. i recieved 2 denials, then had a hearing and won my case. if you recieve a denial, i appealed it in less than a week. to help speed up the process. ssd is now accepting fibro as a disability. make sure the doctor reports are saying about the same as the other doc. and just wait, wait and wait. ssd goes back to the month you became disabiled, there is a 5 month peroid you will not get payed for. i became disabled in jan. 98, started the process in april 98, recieved 2 denial, had my hearing in sept. 99. it was set for june 99, but the judge postponed it until sept. I heard in 19 days, that the judges dicussion was fully favorable. did not recieve my checks and back pay check until nov. 99. they are to reevaluate me in 2 years. my medicare becomes effect this july 1st. next month. you may not recieve 2 denials, but my friends with fibro had 2 denials too. its a waiting game. try not to stress yourself and just wait. the goverment is slow. hope you feel well. feel free to e-mail me.
