I have FD in 6 bones. I am 34 years old and have had 3 transplant type operations. Though it has been a pain in the *%@, I now lead a fairly normal life style. I will always have the aches and pains, but that is a small price to pay for being able to be active and play with my small boys. I may suggest talking to The great Dr's at Shands Hospital at the University Of Florida in Gainsville, FL. Their Orthopedic Clinic has done wonders for me! They know more about FD than any other place that I have been (and I have been all over!) Good Luck.
