Boy can I sympathize! I sustained a whiplash in 1988...after a month or so the pain suddenly became debilitating. Chiropractors, massage therapists of all kinds, Rheumatologists,surgeons...no one knew how to help me. For six years I was essentially "sedated" with tranquilizers and anti-depressants...These did nothing to relieve the constant pain! Then I found a specialist in New Mexico who was able to diagnose the SOURCE of my pain...My muscle spasms had been so severe that they they had pulled my clavical and my shoulder blade out of position...causing constant tension on the nerves and muscles in the area. This doctor spent two years trying to undo the scar tissue that had occurred over six years. I thought I would never live a normal life again...I could barely work. However, I have been able to resume most of my normal activities, and to get off the useless medications. My doctor received a national award for her work in this field.
