My 14 yr old daughter had a TBI August of 1999. It was due to cardiac arrest while swimming. She has since been diagnosed with LQTS a rare genetic heart disorder, that more recently myself and my other two children have also been diagnosed with.Anyway, about the TBI recovery-she was inpatient rehab for about 6 wks, and continued at home with a group called rehab without walls. Now she goes to outpatient rehab.She had an eval by Rancho Hospital for problems walking. She has problems with memory, reading writing, visual perceptual problems. She continues to improve, and the encouraging thing is that our children have a much better chance at recovering from these types of accidents. They are young and can heal and relearn things much easier than adults. Most encouraging though, is our constant support from God, and with a belief in Him ALL things are truely possible!
