I am 43yrs old and got fifth's disease from one of the children I work with at preschool. I was put on steriods for about 14 days. I had repeat bouts with swelling for 6 months and occasional problems for the rest of the year. My mother was visiting and when she left us and went home she found out that she had gotten the disease from me. Her symptoms lasted longer. My advise is to take it easy on yourself and rest has much as possible. I found about 6 months ago that I have fibromyalgia and have put on about 25 pounds between the two diseases. I am having a hard time dealing with the fibromyalgia and all the medication that I have to take. If you have any advise on that subject I would appreciate it. I also feel the two have something to do with each other!!
