My father has valley fever. He caught it while liveing in Arizona. I was under the impression that the only place you could catch this was in the desserts of Arizona and in parts of California. It is a mite in the dessert sand that enters through the airways and effects the nervouse system among other things once it is in your lungs. My father takes medication for this which is quite costly. It helps control the severe shakeing and sweats he goes through as well as the weakness in his limbs. Did your son visit the dessert or live in either of those two areas? The doctors here in New England were not really sure what it was when My father moved back home to Massachusetts. They had to contact his doctor in Arizona to find out the proper treatment for his condition.
