I am in the process of finding out just what it is like being written off by neurosurgeons who could not be bothered to answer the questions about an MRI that revealed a centrally located Syringomyelia condition and a possible Chari. I'm certain I need to knock on a few more doors to gain the insight that many of you have after hearing some of these stories. All I know is that my SM involves my entire spinal cord......The question that I have not had answered is why is the CSF spilling in. After doing more research I have scheduled a second opinion with Dr. Pilcher at The University of Rochester Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester New York. At the first neuro consult I was told that my pain was discogenic as I do have 4 herniations. But to me this does not explain the extreme dizziness with just about all activities....The feeling of an elephant sitting on my chest.....an inability to think clearly and feel awake and alert during the day....ETC. I'm certain another out there can relate to this. Any INFO or comments are certainly welcome. I will be going for a brain MRI and a second opinion within the next 30 days if all goes well. I certainly will question everything and actually have a good idea of what to ask after looking here. Thanks to all and my best to you~~~!!!
