Yes my son has both choanal stenosis (just diagnosed) and autism (2008 diagnosed) And wondering if there is a link. He was in Nicu for 3 days when born b/c he has trouble feeding and breathing and would turn blue around mouth and lips ( now I know why) nice of someone to give me a possible diagnosis- had to find out why my baby didn't cry when he came out and skin was blue from lack of oxygen from ent 6 years later! The research I've done so far says there could be a link between mental retardation(mental disability) and choanal stenosis but doesn't mention autism. But years ago they didn't even classify autism they said autistics were mentally retarded. So interestingly enough there may definitely be a connection- I've always been convinced my sons autism had something to do with his complications in birth...at least in part-I'm not saying that there aren't other contributing factors to his autism but it's something to think about right?
