My 13 year old daughter has had several bouts with Angioedema. They started when she was about 9. Facial mainly but the last one affected her hands. Swelling made them crack on her knuckles. It is a hard thing for her to deal with as we can not find any know allergins(we have had blood and skin prick tests). These are the things we think might trigger it. Exessive heat/sweating (Sunburn), Exhaustion/lack of good night sleep, Eating processed meat such as salami, jerk and lunch meats, Strawberries (They have high pestisides that can not be washed off due to soft skin)& Stress. She takes 1 Zyrtec in am daily and 1 Hydroxyz in the evenings. Then also takes liquid Hydroxyz when eppisode occures. ANY OTHER MEDICINE OUT THERE?? Other iead on what triggers it would be great! DANAZOL...What is it and does it work. Any chance she might outgrow this? Would love to hear from others with this ailment.
