Kim, After researching MS, I found that most MS patients are very sensitive to heat. I'm in the process of being diagnosed with MS. Had brain MRI and it revealed lesions on the right frontal lobe of my brain which causes hypersensitivity on my right side (like your nerves are exposed). Can you describe your pain on the left side?
