By all means, have your surgery. It's no picnic, but be sure to ask about pain medication before surgery and see if you can get the self administered type. Is this a local support group for breast cancer patients/survivors near you? Ask the information services person at your hospital. There is so much information on the Internet also. Good luck. You'll feel so relieved when you know you have removed the source of your cancer.
