Hello, my 3 year old is in the same boat, she is allergic to almost every known antibiotic. Morgan has ongoing infections (staff and strep) she gets phynomia every other month and as a result her ears have ruptured twice and know her hearing is suffering. Anyway we have tried all antibiotics and she gets hives with everyone. when she needs them she has to be admitted in the hosiptial and is givin vencomicin by iv so far this is the only antibiotic she doesn't get hives and stomach aches from. the problem is it's VERY expensive and requires a hosiptial stay for 7to10 days. we are working with many doctors who can't explain why or what should be done. so for now we wait for another flair up and back to the hosiptial we'll go. As of her last ear surgery she had a reaction of the anistectic (hives) and i was told "we didn't give her anything she should react to" but the saw her hives. Every hosiptal vist i'm treated like a nut because i'm so tired of seeing my child like that with no one having answers for us. My child has been poked and prodded more in her short life than in all mine and if you think i'm tired of it you should see the rest or us. so know we were told that her next flair up we'll be sent to the childrens hospital and that nothing can be done until then. They can walk on the moon but they have no answers for a fursterated family.
