I work with a nurse in a school and understand your frustration. In my experience the most time should be spent on removing the nits daily and using olive oil treatment every 3 days for 3 weeks. By using the olive oil every 3 days, you are smothering any lice that may hatch from missed nits before they have a chance to mature and lay eggs. Also, are you sure you are not being re-exposed? We advise parents to stop any overnight visits or close contact if they are continuing to see lice and are doing everything right. Good luck.
