I had the same symptoms for years and doctors did their usual little three tests T3, T4 TSH......always low normal.....finally, I was working for a female pathologist and she said let's get a blood test that tests for antibodies.....sorry, can't remember exactly name of it, but had to send it to California......it was very, very high abnormal.... My suggest too would be to go to a Endocrinologist....not just a GP......two weeks before I went to the Endocrinologist, my Gynecologist felt my thyroid and said "its okay"....two weeks later the Endocrinologist said "you have a goiter"....so, it pays to see the specialist, believe me.....I take Synthroid (by prescription) and it works for me......Good Luck (I know because I'm sure it took me 10 years to finally get a diagnosis).....
