I have 2 children who've recently been diagnosed (after 6 years of decline). Both were power-wheelchair bound up until January 2000. Both are walking now and improving everyday with the help of some powerful drugs. Very little is available on the subject so it's hard to research. The kids are on Levodopa/Carbidopa (100/25), also know by the brand name Sinemet. They also take Baclofen, Amantidine and Clonazepan. We've been adjusting the dosages gradually to get the maximum effectiveness out of the L-Dopa without the side effects (involuntary movements). At this point, the meds are pretty stable but it's not always easy to cut a pill into 1/8ths! Good luck to you both!
