In 1989 I was diagnosed with FMD. I have not been able to find out very much about this vascular disease. I had a carotid diliataion and renal angioplasty in March of that year. I have periodic carotid ultrasounds and angiograms. Even though I have known FMD in the right carotid also, testing has not shown it to be necessary for surgery on this carotid. I would like to correspond with someone with this disease and/or a medical professional who could give me any information. I work for a physician and we still cannot find anything informative. A cousin who was in medical school in 1989 sent me two articles from a medical textbook, but that is the extent of our information.
