Hi. I was just dx with hypothyroidism but have had hypoglycemia for over 3 years. Mine is very severe due to some accumulations of heavy metals in my body but I can tell you that a high protein/low carb diet is the way to go. Try nuts, seeds (esp. pumpkin) and cheese as a snack in between 4-6 meals a day. The more often you eat, the better balanced your blood sugar will be. Mine is so severe that I have seizures if i even were to have a drop of sugar or fruit or any sugars. Just to let you know, Synthroid contains confectioners sugar as well as lactose. I'm still looking into the other levothyroxine pills to see which has the lowest amts. For me, it would be dangerous to have this small amt. I avoid all types of sugars in my supplements/vitamins and foods. Please feel free to email me privately if you want to talk more. There are also some decent sites on hypoglycemia, but you are better off on a site specifically for hypoglycemia than a health site containing some info on hypoglycemia if you want to most detailed and accurate info. Good Luck. Orluinc@aol.com
