my rheumatologist prescribed azulfidine to me. I think i have a rather mild case affecting my sacral illiac joint both sides, although the pain has gotten bad enough to keep me in bed at times. but the antibiotic azulfidine has almost completely stifled my symptoms, usually have none at all, every once in a while its noticable. so ask your doctor. there are a couple of theories. that the problem is spurned by an infection, another thought is the antibiotic just has an anti inflamatory effect. anyway goodluck
