My husband has suffered from Ankylosing Spondalitis since 1976. He was doing fairly well, able to keep working etc. until he suffered a farming accident. He fell into a hole and twisted his back and tore ligaments. That was in 1997. Since then he has been in pain bad enough that he can only sleep 4-5 hours a night. He took Indocin SR for inflammation since 1976 and it seemed like it always worked the best for him. Not now. Since the injury was on the job Labor and Industries has been footing the bill. However, they have more or less forced him into a program at the local college to "retrain" him for another line of work. He is 57 years old. Add pain, depression, pressure from his casemanager from L and I and he has been one sick man. Now L and I are saying that they feel the pain is from the Ankylosing and not from the injury and they want to cut him off completely. Anyone know anything about an back injury healing when you have ankylosing? Thanks
