Nancy, I also suffer from FMS and my rheumatologist wants me to have an MRI to rule out Chiari Malformation (I have most of the symptoms). He said a subset of people with fibro. also have the CM. I asked him about going to get the MRI and he wanted it to be done at his hospital (Georgetown Uuniversity Hospital) because he is also a researcher and they did a major study there on FMS and CM. He said the radiologists there knew how to do the particular MRI and read it. That's so important. I would consider having a second opinion from a neurosurgeon or radiologist who is familiar with Chiari Malformation. I know of GTU and also Johns Hopkins. Don't give up, you shouldn't have to suffer because of someone else's lack of knowledge. Gayle
