LeNita
My daughter has had eczema all of her life. She is now 7 years old. We are finally able to control her eczema thru trial and error of products. The first thing we do for her is bathe her only about once a week. When she bathes, she uses only the unscented Dove. I have also found that Paul Mitchell Australian Tea Tree shampoo helps her badly itchy and scabbed scalp because it soothes. After her bath, we slather her with Eucerin lotion all over. I put "The Conditioner" on her scalp made by Paul Mitchell. It is a leave-in conditioner which seems to moisturize her scalp and soften her hair. I was informed by her last dermatologist that the steroid creams can actually weaken and thin the skin, so we just apply the Diprolene (betamethasone dipropionate) only for breakouts. She itches terribly at night, so I give her some prescription medicine called Hydroxozine to help her rest without itching. I think liquid Benadryl works well too, though. The reason I've gotten so detailed with brands is because we have tried EVERYTHING. I do hope and pray that you all get some relief for your children soon, because I know how you feel. My daughter doesn't want to wear short sleeves because she is actually scarred in the bend of her arms. Good luck to you all.
