Lori, First of all congrats!!! Second you probably don't have to worry about the baby getting it. I'm no doctor, but the same situation happened to me with my neice. My daughter didn't get them. Your immune system has no effect on something like chicken pox. It's a contageous form of herpes. Gross!!!! I know, but don't panic. All children go through it at one time or another in their life. The baby probably won't get them because they aren't contageous until they form a blister and pop. It's the juicy stuff in the blister that is contageous. I hope I helped ease your concerns. I would still check with a doctor as soon as you are able. Just to make sure. Take care and enjoy the little one while she can't talk yet. Hahaha! Just kidding Mine is three now and started talking at one year old and hasn't stopped yet! She is so smart and funny though it makes it all worth it. Take Care! Pam
