I have just been diagnosed with AS. I have had ulcerated proctitis for about 15 years. Do you also suffer from coleitis or proctitis? I have learned that they sometimes go together. I have moderate pain in my lower back and my right ankle is also affected.I am taking asacol and feldene and I have found exercise to be very helpful-I was surprised. I walk daily and swim and will be seeing a therapist for back-strengthing exercises.I also will use heat packs on my back.Do you have other symptoms as well? like eye inflammation? I am 43.This is also new to me-write back if you want.
