For anyone interested, I have found out what my 'sticky bowel' is.....it is adhesions caused by my last bout of surgery 18 months ago. It would appear that surgery causes scarring on the outside of the bowel and that these scars can adhere to eachother, preventing the normal movement of the bowel and, thus, preventing normal bowel movements. This was cleared up for me after a Barium enema that I underwent a couple of days ago. NB. As far as I am aware, there is no way of 'treating' adhesions so I guess I haven't exactly made a great leap forward!!!! Ah well....
