My mother, 73yrs old has had digestive problems for 5 yrs. Irritable Bowel Syndrome has been mentioned by gastrointerlogists but none ever ordered CTs or Ultrasounds until this month. Pancreas had 2 spots that the radiologist's report seem to lean toward these spots being cysts. Her symtoms are after eating, IMMEDIATE urge for bowel movement (almost uncontrollable) and very fowl-smelling. Both a surgeon and a gastro did not seem to be too alarmed. Surgeon wants to try to avoid surgery and gastro started out with blood tests and stool sample. How did your symtoms start out, and do you think this sounds more like pancreatic enzyme insufficiency?
