I have had meniere's disease for about 16 years now. The old I get the worse it get on me. I am retired form the USMC with disibility and the VA has pickup. I am at 100% now. I have lost most of my hearing now. I have the disease in both ears. I never know which one causes my attack. I have had two operation now in the last year half. Now I go back in on 24 January to have Gentamicin injection directly into my ear. I have been worried about the affect of it after word. So far everything they have done for me at the VA has not work. I do take 5 mg of Valum when I have a bad spell. I average about 11 per month after my last operation, before that it was around 16 attack. I used the word attack and keep track of them only when I have to take valum. I do have the all the time but mainly keep track of the amount of valum I take and qty per day. This is an on going thing for me all the time. I have spell while I am driving my jeep. I just never know when they will happen. It sure I nice to fine other people with this disease. I live in Rockford Illinois and I know of no support group for the disease. I do go sign school once a week and have been doing that for 2 years now. I just start class now on lip reading. I feel that in the next two year I will not hear. I would reather not hear then have these spell all the time.-
