On Dec. 16th the FDA made a decision to remove the breast cancer indication for Avastin. Genentech, the makers of Avastin, apparently refused to remove the breast cancer use from the drug and instead said they would fight the FDA's decision, and asked for a public hearing, which will not take place until the end of June. Why does it take 6 months for a hearing. Is the drug safe? Surely the FDA owes it to the public to act faster than this?
