Some water that's bottled comes from pristine, often underground rural sources; other brands have a source no more remote than local tap water. Is that safe? I was reading that Nestle, a major US producer of bottled water follows the industry norm and does not test for pharmaceuticals in the water. Most wastewater and drinking water facility treatments do not remove all drug residue. Medications also may end up in drinking water supplies as a result of people who choose to flush unwanted medications down the toilet, rather than throw them away. I wonder if any of the water we drink is really safe?
