When it comes to diet and acne, most people think chocolate and greasy food. Related Links. But new research is now focusing attention on carbohydrates. That's because foods with a high glycemic load, such as white bread and potatoes, may cause acne to flare up. Researchers are not sure why, but they think it has something to do with the surge in insulin many of these foods create. But a low glycemic diet, such as high fiber cereal or beans, seems to help reduce acne in patients. I wonder if anyone will try this approach?
