Dear Lisa, MS is a chronic disorder of the nervous system. Weakness is a common symptom, together with bladder/bowel dysfunctions also, to name a few. Recovery at 100% has not been reported as yet. I have MS for the past 5 years, being treated with methylprednisolone injections for 3 days, every 6 months. Current treatment is now interferons, self-inject, 3 times a week. It would be appropriate to get a full diagnosis done thru MRI of brain and scan. The weakness can be controlled thru MS specific meds but unfortunately, the brain/spine co-ordination is hard to re-maintain as "normal." It requires thorough knowledge of MS; more importantly, it requires family support to make adjustments to adapt to a 'new way of life'.
