adult tonsillectomy

I am so glad to kjnow that I'm not the only one that has felt this bad! I am in day #8 of my recovery, I had a combined tonsillectomy and cholecystectomy (my gallbladder out). The pain from my tonsils has been so bad that I have barely noticed the other. I was beginning to think that I was just a big baby, I kept complaining to my husband that my pain medicine doesn't work and I think he was getting to tghe point that he thought I just wanted more "drugs", why do people tend to think that? Obviously they have never had this surgery done. My doctor has changed my meds twice, nothing helps longer than 2 hrs, and as you all know, nothing totally alleviaites it. Yesterday I felt slightly better and did much more talking and walking around the house than usual, and I paid all night long for it. I have not yuet been abe to eat anything very solid, I eat mashed vegetables and soups, cream of wheat, have NO desire for ice cream. Wish I had advice for anybody out there thinking about this, but right now, all I can think about is wanting a good nights sleep and a pain free meal again. It hurts to talk, swallow, breathe, move my tongue in any way. My ears are killing me. I even feel like my face hurts over my nose and cheeks. I have had 2 children, 2 sinus surgeries, and several other surgeries, this is the worst pain I have ever had from any of them. Good luck to anybody waiting to have it done.
