I am 24 and I was just recently diagnosed with TOS. I have been having pains and loss of feeling in my left arm on a daily basis. I can't carry any weight on my back or pick up anything heavy without feeling numbness in my fingers. My doctor told me that my first rib on my left side pinches against my nerve when I move in certain ways. He recommended a fairly easy procedure to remove that first rib. He said, when diagnosed correctly, the procedure can be very sucessful. It's a small incision under your arm pit. Only one night hospitilization is needed and a few extra days of uncomfort where the rib used to be.
