I realize this is a bit outdated but maybe it might help somebody. This is called agoraphobia. The fear of open spaces (which is what you have to go into in order to go anyplace outside of your home). I have had this for many years. I am also manid-depressive so I have a regular doctor who treats all of my problems. You might have to take something for anxiety. Don't worry. . it's not tatooed on your forehead so nobody knows you might have a problem. That's the part I had to get used to. Good Luck and I hope this isn't too late for somebody.
