Thank God there are other people with the same problem!! For awhile, I was beginning to believe some of the doctors in the hick small-town hospital ER that I've gone to 5 different times. The first 3 times the gave me Kenalog IV and a few other things and said that will last a few months (HAH!!!) When I went back, scratching like crazy, they told me to go home and take some anti-anxiety medication. (psycogenic itching). It's all in my head. That's when my daughter really got angry and won't let me go back there. I have a new doctor and he's sending me to an allergist/dermatologist. In the meantime, showers help me (sometimes 2 or 3 a day) and then I use triplel-strength Gold Bond lotion all over my body. I might go through a lot of lotion but it really helps. It's about 1/2 the price of Sarna, which is what the doctor suggested and does the same thing. It has a cooling menthol feel to it. I also use ice packs when it's really bad. I've been going through this for almost 2 years. Maybe someday, somebody will put a name to what all of us are going through.
