My sister has pcos. They told her she would never have kids. She had several operations to remove cysts. She did not have regular periods and had gained weight. She finally started exercising like a mad woman and lost a ton of weight. I don't know if her intention was to have children but she got pregnant. The entire pregnancy they told her to be prepared to lose this baby because it was just not possible. She bled (vaginally) for almost the entire 9 months. We were terrified to get phone calls for fear they were the miscarriage call. She delivered a healthy baby boy (a few weeks early due to getting the flu). Now 3 kids later, she is serious about controlling her weight. One of the symptoms of pcos is weight gain. It is almost impossible to lose weight but she is determined but doing it in a healthy way (no starving). My best friend also has pcos. She has not been able to control her weight as well. She went on the fertility drug clomid with no success. But after 10 years of suffering she has adopted 2 beautiful children from the state of oregon and is finally at peace. Not every solution will work but I think the weight gain is a real factor at work here. Control the weight and it seems to put some of the hormones back in balance. Good luck!
