For gallbladder problems, cut the fat from your diet - and don't eat spicey foods. Eat a bland diet with fruit and vegetables and lean meat. After your surgery, follow the same diet for about 6 wks. After that you can slowly add other foods to see how you react. Don't overdo it. If the gallbladder is removed by laser surgery, it is not a difficult surgery to recover from. Except for being sore in the stomach, there isn't much pain. Just take it easy -- there is internal surgery that has to heal, even though on the outside you will have just some minor 1/2 inch slits where they insert the instruments. You'll be able to drive a few days after surgery, and by taking it easy for about 6 wks., you should be fine.
