Hi Tonny, I understand that anal fistula always exist after anal abscess is drained even it is properly treated. Your doctor performed the SETAN surgical method may due to that the anal fistula is high up at the anal canal. Otherwise, fistulotomy will be performed (cut the track and lay it open)to let it heal fr outside. I was told that the recurrence is possible. Do you experience fever or chill before? I am preparing for fistulotomy. My colorectal surgeon told me the wound would be about 1cm long.
