After having your problem as well as having a problem hearing certain voices and sounds I finally went to see a Doc. I did have significant hearing loss for someone my age. The Doc asked if I had ever been near an explosion of any kind (guns, etc). I know of nothing in my past. But... The point is I am now wearing hearing aids and they have helped tune out the ringing. I have a newer kind (digital) which can be programmed to only amplify the range of sounds I have a problem with. The Doc said there was no guarantee that hearing aids would help tennitus, but they have certainly made my life easier. You might check with your family Doc or a specialist and see if there is something that could be done. My prayers are with you.
