On 09/25/03 I had a colonoscopy (which in answer to some of your questions does not hurt thanks to being medicated ). The findings read: "normal exam, no polyps, follow up 10 years". On 12/04/03 I went to the E.R. with #4 pain in the area of the R. kidney. A surgeon was called in after viewing a CT scan and he decided to Rx.anti- botics for a week (diverticulitis ? ). The pain left for three days and then returned as #10 pain. On 12/24/03 I was admitted for surgery for invasive carcinoma of the cecum. A standard R. colectomy requiring total excision was performed. The tumor was the size of a medium peach according to the surgeon and had been growing for a year. Anyone( in the medical field) know why the colonoscopy didn't see the tumor?
