My mother-in-law age 89 was operated on for a severe case of cellulitis in her lower leg about 6 weeks ago. Two weeks ago she had a skin graft to cover the area where the skin had been removed. She has been in a great deal of pain and has been in a nursing home for therapy since she originally left the hospital. The doctor indicated that once the skin graft was done her pain would lessen significantly. This does not seem to be the case and she is having a very difficult time with therapy and is becoming weak and despondant. Are there other complications that could be happening that aren't readily evident that we should be asking the Dr. about.
