On 09/25/03 I had a colonoscopy. Believe me I didn't know it was done until I awoke and was told it was over. My findings read: " normal exam, no polyps, follow up in 10 years " On 12/24/03 I went to the E.R. with # 4 pain in the area of my R.kidney. A surgeon was called in after viewing a CT scan and decided to Rx. antibotics for a week. ( diverticulitis ? ) After the third day following that week the pain, this time #10,returned. On 12/24/03 I was admitted for surgery for invasive carcinoma of the cecum. A standard r. colectomy requiring total excision was performed. Tme tumor was the size of a medium peach which ,according to the surgeon, had been growing for a year. Anyone ( with a medical background in this type of test ) know why the colonoscopy didn't see the tumor?
