Anna
I am 25, and had a horrible sciatica for 6 months. I was reluctant to go to a doctor more than once or twice, and do an MRI due to the fact that I am not insured. One fine weekend I had horrible spasms in my legs and then completely became paralyzed waist down. I was rushed to ER and MRI showed that I had a ruptured disk (no injury; the cause is pure mystery). I had an L5 lumbar disectomy and my surgeon is really impressed with my results. They are truly miraculous. I regained feeling in almost all of my left leg and have absolutely no pain. I suggest - don't wait long. It's scary, I know, but you need to be careful when it comes to a spine - especially neck. I was very lucky. I'm still lucky to be walking. My thoughts are with you, and with everyone who has been through this. It was horrible. Good luck, Anna
