Hi I was just told that I have DVT in the leg and abdomin.I was in hospital for two weeks on hepprin. They wanted to do a new surgery on me but only one in a hundred survive without problems,I declined it as my leg did start getting better. The doctor's say I could be on warfrin for six month's or more.I'm only 24 and most people think that this only happens to older people,I think that younger people should be more informed about how this can effect them too.The doctor's think that it was from taking birth control and smoking or the eight hour drive I went on a few weeks before.I just want the younger people to know that it could happen to them and to take better care when they are on birth control or going on long trips you need to take rest stops even if the trip is only four hour's.My clot's are slowly healing but I almost lost my leg, and I can't do the thing's I could before because I'am still on bed rest.I have two children 2 and 5 and it is hard on them because mommie can't run around with them.I have to wear a very tight compression stocking for the rest of my life.So please remember it can happen to younger people too.
