My grandmother is 90 yrs old and is currently in the hospital with a variety of problems. Mainly her gall bladder has shut down. Adding to this probelm her heart rate is going crazy, one minute it is really high and the next minute it may be real low. Her doctors have said that they do not think she would make it through surgery to remove the gall bladder, but also know that if they do nothing, she will die anyway. My biggest question is what do you feel is the prognosis as far as time form her. I would hate for her to have to endure this pain for very much longer, what kind of time frame would you give on someone her age that has these problems?
