I started having a brownish discharge @ my 7 week of pregnancy. This lasted for about 5 days and was rather heavy. My doctor sent me to have an ultrasound to make sure there was a live fetus. Ultrasound confirmed a hearbeat. At my first OB appt at 10 weeks my OB said the report from the doctor that did the ultrasound said that he suspected the bleeding was caused by the placenta pulling away from the uterus. I was advised by my OB at the 10 week appt not to exercise or have intercourse until my first trimester is over, even though I have not had any more of the discharge. I'm concerned that I was not told about this earlier when I had the ultrasound. Also, I thought that this kind of complication was not possible until after the 20th week. Should I be concerned? Do I need to be on bedrest? Not sure what to make of this. My OB did not seem to be that concerned but the nurse in her office seemed to be.
