Yeast needs warmth, moisture and sugar to grow. Diabetics are very susceptable to yeast infections so if you haven't been tested with a fasting blood sugar or a glucose tolerance test, get one. Pregnancy and hormone birth control also increases risk. Normally, healthy bacteria and yeast balance each other in the vagina. Have you also been on antibiotics? They can trigger a yeast infection. Also stay out of hot/tubs (shower instead); wear cotton underwear (no nylon - even pantihose can exacerbate problems); wear loose fitting pants; even soap on the vaginal area can be a problem. Hopefully you are not douching! Good luck!
