Anne, just last October I was hospitalized for 10 days for Diverticulitis. An abscess the size of a lemon had formed in my intestines, however, I was lucky and it was "encased". As I have a number of other health problems, my doctor decided to take a "wait and see" attitude, filling me with IV antibiotics complete bed rest, etc to see if the abscess receded. Tracking it with Cat Scans, the antibiotics did the trick and by January 12th the abscess was gone. This prevented any surgery and both the doc and I were happy! As far as foods, My doc said not to eat anything with seeds or nuts in them. But if you research Diverticulitis on the NET, you get different answers. Some doctors says it doesn't matter. So, Sometimes I do allow myself something with nuts in it, being careful to chew them really well. I do try and stay away from seeds as much as I can. I find that some foods do give me gas, such as beans, etc. but I allow myself a few of them. Would Beeno help you? This is just my input. Hope it helps
