Ladies I got the following info from my company nutritionist today and thought I would pass it along. Our nutritionist is Myrna Jo Heller. She has been on both t.v and radio talk shows. She really knows her stuff HORMONE REPLACEMENT THERAPY MADE SIMPLE Q: My doctor has prescribed estrogen for me. Is there an alternative? A: Most certainly! You can encourage your own estrogen production through your adrenal glands, by using a natural progesterone extract from Wild Mexican Yam (Balance Cream or Estronol) This can be produced even though you may have had a hysterectomy Q: Is it true that estrogen deficiencies and synthetic estrogen dominance have the same symtoms? A: Yes. Hot flashes, mood swings, night sweats, vaginal dryness, fatigue, foggy thinking, and urinary tract infections can be the result of too little natural estrogen or too much synthetic estrogen. Q: Why do you recommend natural progesterone for women in their cycling years: A: Endometriosis, PMS, miscarriages and post-partun depression are the result of progesterone deficiency. I also recommend it for post-menopausal women as well, since estrogen levels drop only half as much at that time of life as the progesterone levels. Q: What are some of the symptoms of excessive synthetic estrogen? A: Excessive body fat accumulation, fluid retention, fibrocystic breasts, depression, increased sex drive, blood sugar problems, loss of zinc and copper, oxygen reduction, and risk of hormonal cancer are all symptoms. Q: Can my diet cause hormone imbalance? A: In part, synthetic estrogen is used in commercial production of dairy products, meats, chickens and eggs. Check with your state associations to determine if your brands are synthetic-hormone-free. Q: Can I take too much natural progesterone. A: Not likely. When the Balance Cream no longer goes into the skin or when the Estronol capsules make your ears ring, you have balanced the receptor sites and can begin reducing the amount. Q: Why do you recommend Chlorella (fresh water green algae) with natural progesterone? A: Chlorella contains all the essential amino acids, shich become protein. Protein feeds the pituitary gland, which in turn, feeds the thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenals. This provides better hormone function. Q: I am on synthetic hormones. How do I get off of them? A: One suggestion by a physician friend fo mine is to get a pill splitter at the drugh store and split your prescription in half. Take those halves for thirty days along with your natural Balance Cream, Estronol, or Chlorella. Then reduce th edrug to one quarter for thirty days, and finally, granulate it for the last thirty days. At the end of the ninety days your change-over from synthetic hormones should be complete. Hope this information is of value to some of you. Linda
