My daughter had mono when she was a teenager and she was the only one in her group of friends that got it. She had the same symptoms and the doctor told us she had to take good care of herself to completely recover meaning complete bed rest. I carried her meals to her and she was out of school about 6 weeks. But she recovered fully, although I think if your immune system gets out of whack later on you feel like you have the symptoms of mono again and you just have to get plenty of rest. Good luck.
